How To Upload a Local SEO Project to Blogger with YACSS
The Local SEO Module is a tool designed to help improve a business's Google Business Profile (GBP) rankings in local search results. It works by generating a large number of driving direction signals — URLs and embeds that simulate real users navigating to the business from various locations around it — and publishing these across Google's own properties such as Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Slides, Google Sheets, Blogger, and WordPress.
The core idea is that when Google sees its own properties (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Calendar, Forms) linking to or embedding a business's Google Maps listing, it treats these as trust signals that reinforce the business's relevance and prominence in a geographic area. The more of these signals exist across a spread of surrounding locations, the stronger the local ranking signals become.
In practice, for each project you define a business, a keyword, a radius, and a number of URLs to generate. YACSS then creates hundreds of unique Google Maps driving direction links and embeds — each starting from a different random point within the radius around the business — and can automatically publish all of this to Google Drive, Blogger, WordPress, or Tumblr with a single click. This tutorial covers publishing to Blogger.
Before you upload a Local SEO project to Blogger, you need to connect your Blogger account to your YACSS account.
Click the Drive Icon Beside Your Project
In the Local SEO Module, find your project in the Local Projects table and click the Drive icon beside it in the Action column.
Click Export To Blogger
A dropdown appears with several export options. Click Export To Blogger. This opens a popup that lets you publish the project content as a post on your connected Blogger account.
The Upload to Blogger Popup
The Upload to Blogger popup opens with several fields and options. Below is a detailed explanation of every field and button.
Select Account
A required dropdown listing all the Google accounts you have connected that have Blogger access. These are the same Google accounts used for Drive exports. Select the account that owns the Blogger blog you want to publish to.
When you select an account the system immediately checks whether your OAuth connection is still valid. If the token has expired, a message will appear below the dropdown with a clickable link saying "Your connection is expired, Click here to reactivate account." You must click that link and reauthorise before the upload will work.
Once a valid account is selected, the Select Blog dropdown below automatically populates with the blogs available on that account.
Select Blog
A required dropdown that appears and populates automatically after you select a valid Google account above. It lists all the Blogger blogs associated with that account. Select the specific blog you want the post to be published on. If you have multiple blogs under one account they will all appear here.
Enter Title
A required text input for the title of the Blogger post that will be created. When you open the popup from the project table this field is pre-filled with the project's main keyword, so you do not need to type anything if you are happy with that as the post title. You can edit it to anything you like before publishing.
Include Section (Optional Embed Checkboxes)
This section only appears if you have previously done a successful Google Drive export for this project. It contains five checkboxes that let you choose which Google Drive embeds to include inside the body of the Blogger post, in addition to the standard content. Each checkbox is independent and you can tick any combination of them.
Embed From Sheet — Embeds the Google Sheet (the spreadsheet containing all the driving direction URLs and embeds) as an iframe inside the post. This makes the full link list visible and interactive directly on the Blogger page.
Embed From Slide — Embeds the Google Slides presentation as an iframe inside the post. Each slide contains a driving direction link, so this effectively shows the entire set of directions as a scrollable presentation within the blog post.
Embed From Doc — Embeds the Google Doc (the word document containing all the links and business description) as an iframe inside the post.
Embed From Calendar — Embeds the Google Calendar that was created during the Drive export as an iframe inside the post. The calendar contains a recurring daily event with the business information and links.
Embed From Google Form — Embeds the Google Form that was created during the Drive export as an iframe inside the post.
If you have not done a Drive export yet, these checkboxes will not appear, because there are no Drive files to embed.
Create Post Button
Clicking this publishes the post immediately to the selected Blogger blog. The post is published as live and publicly visible — it is not saved as a draft. The system compiles the post content in the following order before publishing:
First, if you uploaded images to the project, one image from your project is included at the top of the post as an embedded base64 image. Then the business description is added, processed through Spintax if your project had Spintax enabled so each variation produces slightly different wording. Then any selected embeds from Drive (Sheet, Doc, Slides, Calendar, Form) are added as iframes in the order they were checked. Then all driving direction cards are added — each one showing the iframe map embed on the left and the starting point, destination, and an "Open in Google Maps" button on the right. Below the cards, all the driving direction URLs are listed as individual link blocks with a map pin icon and a button. Finally, if GBP links were enabled on the project, those are added as Visit Profile link blocks at the bottom.
Once the post is created successfully, a green success message appears inside the popup showing the live URL of the newly published post. The URL is displayed as a clickable bold link so you can open it immediately to verify.
If something goes wrong — for example if the account token has expired or there is a connection issue — a red error message appears in the popup describing the problem.
